I know, I know, I’m giving too much emphasis to a document that has been, at best, aspirational.

But it’s worth considering that this is perhaps the last budget of a prime minister who actually completed a full first term. We haven’t had that since 2018.

I’ll start with the obvious: the allocation jump, and then move on to Anwar’s protected class, his best-kept constituency, and our long-suffering petro piggybank.
