I know, hot on everyone’s lips is the house arrest of former PM-turned-convict Najib Razak.
But that’s for a separate newsletter. It’s been quite the week here in Malaysia, what can I say?

Everyone’s celebrating Google’s data centre as if it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
The tech giant claims to commit US$15 billion (RM61 billion) in Malaysia over 2027 and 2028.
Claims is the right word, since it isn’t really bound to that sum and no one actually keeps track.
The announcement comes with the usual frills: clean energy, water security and a promise to “train” 800,000 Malaysians.
Anwar loves these sort of tech-gianty announcements, so he welcomed the news himself.
