I’m splitting this edition into two. Kiddo turns 10 today, so I’m off to celebrate.

Well, sort of. The irritating thing about entrepreneurship is I never really get to switch off. Such is life.

Part 1 is an New, ideas and everything in between with three briefs:

  • the ownership twist in Selangor’s parking concession (surprise, surprise)

  • the outlier VC that is Kairous Capital and one of its founders’ boardroom ties, and

  • why Malaysia Airlines’ latest results are more feel-good than fundamentals.

🚨 And the big one: subscription prices go up on October 1. This is the best time for you to lock in an annual or founding member subscription.

I’ll keep sending out reminders until the very last day. Details here 👇🏾

I run monthly and annual subscriptions. There’s also the atas or founding member tier where you get all the perks of an annual subscription and more, such as an annual or founder’s report and insight into how this little corner of the internet fared throughout the year.

💡 The founding member tier is a sliding one, meaning it starts at US$60/year and you can raise it as high as you want — in case you want to give more, which I welcome anytime.

Group subscriptions are on the table, if you’re mulling over purchases for your organisation or for family members.

Once in a while, I dabble in public-interest journalism. One case was the Selangor parking concession, which caused quite a stir some time ago.

It’s a lucrative deal, with margins of up to 40%. I’ve written about this in July.

But this week a subscriber flagged ITMAX’s bourse filing, which said that its 70% subsidiary had secured its third Selangor parking concession.

By the end of this “discovery”, I could only roll my eyes. Let’s get to it.
